Dawn At Mt. Rainier

An early morning hour in the month of October, on a cloudless day, became a fortunate time to capture a squadron of pelicans soaring out of the sunrise. The location was near the small town of Ocean Shores on the man made jetty facing Grays Harbor. Mt. Rainier is visible from that point, if the sky is clear. Any clouds or morning haze tend to hide the mountain from view. The Camera used was a Canon Rebel 300D using the 75 to 300mm zoom lens to capture the mountain and birds with the land mass across the harbor. The foreground wave scene was captured moments later with the 18 to 55mm zoom lens. The 2 scenes were later fused together at the horizon line.
